LSU has parted ways with Kevin Steele leaving a vacancy for the Defensive Coordinator coaching spot. Sources are already reporting that Rob Ryan has been talking to Joe Alleva about filling the position.

Rob Ryan was recently fired from the Saints as their Defensive Coordinator on November 16th. Ryan was hired as the New Orleans defensive coordinator in February 2013 implementing a 3–4 defense to the team and scrapping their previous 4–3 defensive scheme. Ryan’s defense finished well statistically in 2013, but New Orleans played over half of their games against teams with losing records.

Would Rob Ryan be a good fit for the Purple and Gold? Well thats to be seen, but right now the team is considering it.

The big question going around LSU Tiger Country is, Who Will Be The New Defensive Coordinator? How ironic would it be for the state of Louisiana if Rob Ryan gets fired by the Saints and he starts coaching at LSU? Would make for a very interesting 2016 season.
